Mohamed Shafeeu has been with the firm since 2016. He has experience in a diverse range of complex commercial matters, and regularly advises clients on acquisition and financing for tourism projects, foreign investment, international arbitration, arbitration-related local court proceedings, cross-border financial transactions and a wide array of litigation matters.

Shafeeu holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from International Islamic University Malaysia. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

  • Represented a major local company in a Singapore-seated arbitration proceedings relating to a dispute arising out of a hotel management contract.
  • Represented a major local company in one of the largest cross-border loan transactions in Maldives for the purpose of tourism development, amounting to US$127.5 million.
  • Represented a major local company relating to issuance of a sovereign guarantee of the Government of Maldives.
  • Represented a major local company in one of the largest resort development projects, based on FIDIC model, valued at US$150 million.
  • Represented a local company in a Singapore-seated arbitration proceeding relating to a dispute arising out of a share sale and purchase agreement.

  • Represented a major local group of companies relating to a transaction to raise financing up to US$30 million from a foreign bank.
